This part plays out exactly as it did in the show, following the episode A Change of Face. For those who haven’t seen it, it will be more clear what happened here 2 more pages after this, but it’s Gwen getting thrown in the way of a spell being cast by Charmcaster, which makes her the target and causes Charmcaster to accidentally swap bodies with her. Before what happened can be revealed, Charmcaster knocks out Gwen in her own body, claiming she’s preventing her from being able to cast a spell, and then her mouth is taped and she’s sent off to juvey.
Next Friday I will release the next two pages, during and after which the fun parts will begin.
Just one more page like this to go and then onto more character interaction dialogue. For those who didn’t watch the show or see this episode, this is the opening to the episode A Change of Face, where Charmcaster starts a fire as a diversion to try and body swap with Ben to take the Omnitrix, but Gwen is then thrown in the way of the spell by a runaway carriage. The details of the result of this scene will be made more clear in the dialogue of the following pages.
Chain Reaction is now on hold, and with this the next scene of Sultry Summer begins. Chain Reaction will resume when this scene is complete. I feel this will be a fun scene, so I’ve been looking forward to working on it.
With this I am done with the current scene of Sultry Summer. Today I uploaded the first page of the next scene of Chain Reaction to SubscribeStar, which will be uploaded here next Friday.
So I remarked last week that I will be changing my upload time to around 4-5PM, and I have decided on 5PM for Friday updates to my website and SubscribeStar. I had really difficult work this week, so I did fall half an hour behind my intended upload time, but I don’t consider that enough to be an issue.
On a separate note, yet again I’m uploading a bit earlier than intended so I can get some sleep. Related to this, I’ve been considering a slight change to my normal upload schedule. I’m not necessarily having any struggle getting finished pages ready on time, so much as the current schedule makes it more difficult for me to get a decent sleep on Fridays. Currently I do multiple things early on Fridays, which has me waking up around 11AM to prepare for, but my body simply has a difficult time getting my schedule adjusted for that time, since I’ve always been a night person that struggles to sleep at a reasonable time. This leads to me either having to sleep a few hours, wake up to upload, then go straight back to bed to finish my sleep, or do like I am today, where I upload a little earlier than intended so that I can get a normal sleep immediately after uploading.
For this reason I have been thinking I’ll possibly switch my upload time to a bit later in the day, such as around 4PM, because uploading the page just a few hours later will make things substantially more comfortable for me. Nothing else would change, besides Friday uploads being pushed back about 3 hours or so. I’m still not 100% decided on how to handle this, so I’ll try and decide soon to announce it officially, but for now I’m too sleepy to want to think about it more right now.
